Week 16

Week 16 has finally arrived!! I've been looking forward to this one since approximately last week when we frantically decided to reschedule the gender reveal party ;)

I had a dr's appt on Monday that went fine.  A resident did my exam and I babbled like an idiot the whole time... told awkward OB/GYN stories that we've heard from dad.  She was super sweet though so maybe I'll be lucky and have her as a resident next week when I start OB.  All they did was the fun lady exams and listened to heart.. beating at a brisk 166!  The only questioned I had was sleeping on my back - I go to sleep on my side but always wake up on my back and feel so guilty.  They assured me though by the time the baby/uterus gets heavy enough to possibly limit blood flow, it will be difficult enough to roll over that it will definitely wake me up.

Today was my last day of peds! They give us Thursday off to study and then exams all day Friday :(  So I will have a fun filled day of studying tomorrow as I try to memorize vaccination schedules and all that fun stuff.  It's going to be really hard for me to focus with something sooo exciting looming in the afternoon.....

....Our gender ultrasound! No, we will not actually be finding out the gender but we have our fingers crossed that the ultrasound tech will see the goods and be able to write it down in a little card for us.  Our appointment is at 5:45 and the bakery who is making our cake closes at 6... which means I will be in possession of the card for at least 12 hours.  I have heard a few people at home are betting on whether or not I will peek but I seriously promise that I'm not going to! I want to be just as surprised as everyone else... plus my face does not hide emotion well so I'm pretty sure everyone would know if I had peeked.  I am seriously nervous about the baby showing us what we need to see.  I've been drinking a lot of water and bought some orange juice tonight as they said if I drink it about an hour before the appt, it should help baby be up and moving around.  I don't have a firm back up plan if we can't see what we need to although it may involve just driving to etown and sitting in dad's office until he can figure it out ;)  Which means then it may not be a surprise for us but I don't want to reschedule the party again!  I'll just keep my fingers crossed that we see what we need to see... and that it's the same thing at our real 20 week ultrasound! ;)

For the party, I will be supporting team pink while Andy will be on team blue.  This decision was made because I have more pink in my closet and he has more blue.  As far as what it's going to be, I have no clue.  I did have  TWO dreams this week that it was a boy! I cut into a blue cake on the first night and on the second night, I saw his little boy parts on the ultrasound! So we will see what that means.  Olivia told me I ruined her morning when I told her about my dream ;)  ***breaking news, Andy is reading over my shoulder and informed me he is not sure if he's on team blue after all.  I'm going to go ahead and state that I am not necessarily wishing for a girl nor do I think it's a girl... I just have a cuter pink shirt ;)  Mom also told me she will be wearing pink as she is worried too many people will have on their UK blue.

I have done absolutely nothing for the party since I've been studying for my test but I do have it all planned out :)  Fortunately, Mom has offered to help me out a ton!  We're going to do yummy tailgate type food for apps/main course and then dessert will be all pink/blue goodies.  I have bought some cute decor and am SO looking forward to my exam being over so I can get to baking!! :)

It's possible that I may do a little weekend posting to update on the success of the gender reveal ;) We are so excited!! :)
