11 Months

Happy 11 months to our sweet baby - the one month countdown is on for her 1st birthday!!! She's getting so big and it's so fun to see her little personality continue to develop.

First things first, I changed the title of the blog... finally :) I don't want Cam to have any more heart attacks when he things we're adding another little one in July!

This past month we've kept busy nearly every weekend it seems! Grammy and Papa got the whole fam tix to the Lion King on Broadway so we took the girls to that.  Unfortunately we missed the first scene and the animals entering due to sitting on 64 for an hr due to a wreck but we were able to sneak in and they both were great.  EK watched most it and occasionally would let out a little growl when the lions were growling :)

We also celebrated her first Easter!! We did not have any visits with the Easter bunny but did make it down to Aunt Jennifer's to visit with everyone and for a giant egg hunt.  Of course EK was content just to hold a couple eggs but Harper finally got into the egg hunting and got a basket full of goodies.

One of the funniest things to see is watching Emma Kate eat.  The girl gets so excited when food starts coming out and will literally try to dive out of my arms when I'm fixing dinner.  She will eat and eat and eat until all the food is gone, and then will point and grunt for Harper to give her more food.  Harper is pretty good about sharing (microscopic) bites with EK and loves to ask whether or not she can have certain foods.  She eats everything and we feed her basically everything we eat now... we're yet to meet a food she doesn't like.

She loves laughing at her big sis and they stay entertained by mimicking noises to each other.  We were at a party this weekend with a 5 month old little boy.. he was watching EK bounce in his bouncer and then Harper walks by... of course Emma Kate growls at her and H growls back and the poor boy melted :(  We realized that maybe not all parents think its funny to teach their kids to growl? Speaking of which, Andy has successfully taught her to growl for a lion and say 'baa' for a sheep.  She will say mama, hi, bye, though only when she prefers to ;)

She is showing a bit of a temper finally and does not appreciate it when Harper takes things from her.  She will melt if she loses something she wants but dries up the tears pretty quickly if her toy is returned ;)  Harper also will tell her 'no no emma kate, you can't do.... ' which EK does not like at all! ha.  Harper enjoys parenting her maybe a little too much ;)

She is still not crawling but will scoot around to get to things she wants... or just find a closer toy to play with ;)  We left her sitting in the middle of the rug with no toys and went to the kitchen to see what would happen.  After a minute of fussing, we see Harper dragging over a little play table for her :)  Typically, EK will just point and grunt at whatever she wants and Harper will get it for her... what else are sisters for ;)

I cleaned out most of her tiny clothes and she's wearing mostly 12 months now.  Still two tiny little teeth on the bottom.  She typically  naps twice/day  and then goes to bed around 730-8.  She's doing a much better job sleeping but occasionally we will go in and have to give her a paci.  She's started sleeping with both hands up behind her head and it's the cutest little thing :)

I finally picked a theme for her 1st bday party - twinkle twinkle little star! The girl loves some much and loves to bounce around when she hears something so I thought it would be fitting :)  We're planning it for May 17 so if anyone is in town let me know, the more the merrier! :)

We've got a biiiiig trip coming up that we are so, so excited for!! Will have lots of fun pics to share next month :)
